Control Walker
This is excellent for dogs that pull and you have tried everything. Such as Labs and Staffi’s the results, if used properly are instant.
Control Walker is not a harness. Control walker comes in two parts collar and clips with cords. After applying the collar and then the cords around under the arm pits as the dogs walk they fell pressure behind their legs and instead of pushing into harness and thus pulling, it does the opposite so it slows the dog down, this gives you time to reward the slow walking.

10 metre leads
10 metre leads are fantastic for any dog learning his boundaries and neighbour hood eg, the front yard.
I use 10 metre lead for dogs that need to learn recall. Your dog is given freedom and at a distance learn to choose to come back and are rewarded for it instead of chasinging them all over the street and punishing them because they would not come. I highly recommend these over retractable leads as they are dangerous and teach the dogs too much freedom at the wrong times... Lead comes with great tips and how to teach recall to your dog. And how to use lead safely (This also counts as a lead so can be used in area dogs are not allowed off lead).
10 metre leads are great to teach retrieve.
They are great to use if want your dog to be in unfenced area eg front yard whilst gardening.
Warning long leads can get tangled and are not recommend with several dogs present unless under trainers supervision or guidance.

Halti The Halti can be a lifesaver for dogs that pull you down the street. It has its benifit as the dog eventually learns to stop pulling once it feels the material it pulls back.
The Halti is a piece of material over the nose, prevents the dog from leading with their nose instead encourages the dogs head down, encouraging the dog to use its peripheral vision which would mean they would be looking straight at you instead of the usually two metres ahead of you.
Great for control of an over excited dog in public or around children or when visitors first arrive in the home. This is not a muzzle although it can be mistaken as one so buy bright. Once applying the Halti you must walk immediately this helps your dog stop over thinking about this new thing on its face. . Your dog may protest at first eg lie down, scratch it off. (Connector collar are also available) Understand your dog has been dictating the walk and this wont allow them to do that.
So I recommend when fitting put on short periods at a time eg when it is dinner time. Then when ready to walk take chicken or something yummy your dog likes and give every few steps until; the dog understands they are okay. You need to persevere with this product, if used properly it will change your relationship with you and your dog whilst walking.
When using the Halti or Gentle Leader it is not recommended that the dog is checked or dragged ever (parents please supervise children when using this equipment).

Martingale Collar
Martingale collar I hope one day will replace all check chains.
If a check chain was used properly it should train the dog for three days maximum and then be transferred to a flat material collar. Not sure why this does not happen if you read the top of this page you will see that I am very passionate about this as check chains are cruel! I just finished reading Marley and me and he dedicated two chapters to how his dog chocked and splutter but still the dog pulled for 14 years, get training and use a product of the many above mentioned that will help and change your relationship with your dog in a painless and stress free way.
Martingale are great for dogs that want to back up and slip there collar, if fitted properly they wont slip over the head, they are best used once dog is lead trained so once the dog feel a slight pressure on the neck he slows down
(This can be taught with positive methods and patience). I leave it attached to my leads and slip on when I walk or transport the dog eg to groomers or vet.

Gentle Leader
Gentle Leader like a Halti is placed on the face on more of an angle (more suitable for smaller faced breeds) eg pugs, Cavaliers, Staffi, Boxer’s etc
The Gentle Leader can also be beneficial for frightened dogs as it encourages your dog to push its head down when walking this is a calming signal so your dog is not looking threatening to other dogs, it is also thought to believe it is the same action the mother does when the pups are young, she mouths their muzzle calming them down. I have had good results using them when vet nursing on stressed dogs and in the car for over excited dogs. The other difference between a Halti and Gentle leader is that it locks under the chin making it more difficult to scratch off.
You will see a dramatic change when using this, be sure to get correct size as if too small can stress your dog out. Once applying the gentle leader you must walk straight away. Your dog may protest at first eg lie down, scratch it off. Understand your dog has been dictating the walk and this wont allow them to do that.
So I recommend when fitting put on short periods at a time eg when it is dinner time. Then when ready to walk take chicken and give every few steps until; the dog understands he is okay.
When using the Gentle leader or the Halti it is not recommended that the dog is checked ore dragged ever (parent please supervise children when using this equipment). You need to preserve with this product, if used properly as it will change your relationship with you and your dog whilst walking tenfold.

(For more assistance on any walking equipment … Walkies can do a private walking/training session to help you get started on your new walking career with your dog.)
Please note any lead walking equipment will help but if dog is not properly stimulated eg walked daily (make the time) the product will eventually fail as the dogs drive will go past any correction as they will be so over stimulated by being out in the first place. Daily exercise will help you see dramatic change in your dogs need to pull in the first place. If you’re giving your dog daily exercise and still not seeing improvement with their walking please don’t hesitate to contact us for advice and training solutions eg class or private training.
